1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Amal ("we", "us", "our", or "the App"), developed by Komil Vazebo, handles information when you use our mobile application. Amal is an Islamic lifestyle app that provides prayer times, Qibla direction, Tasbih counter, Quran reading, and Duas collection.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to all users of the Amal application available on Google Play Store (package name: uz.amal.app).
Summary: Amal is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or phone number. The app works primarily offline, and your data stays on your device.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Processed Locally (On Your Device Only)
The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device. We never access, collect, or transmit this data to any server:
- Prayer tracking history — records of your completed prayers
- Tasbih (dhikr) session history — counter data and session statistics
- App preferences — theme, language, font size, notification settings
- Saved Quran bookmarks — your saved ayahs and reading progress
- Saved Duas — your favorited duas
2.2 Location Data
Amal requests access to your device's location for the following purposes:
- Prayer time calculation — to determine accurate prayer times for your geographic position
- Qibla direction — to point you toward the Kaaba in Makkah
Important: Your location data is processed entirely on your device using the Adhan library for offline prayer time calculation. We do not transmit, store, or share your location with any server or third party. You may also enter your city or coordinates manually if you prefer not to grant location access.
2.3 Crash and Diagnostic Data (via Firebase Crashlytics)
To improve app stability, we use Google Firebase Crashlytics, a third-party service provided by Google LLC. When the app crashes or encounters an error, Crashlytics may automatically collect:
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Device model and operating system version
- App version
- Crash timestamp
This data is anonymized — it does not include your name, email, location, or any personal content. It is used solely to identify and fix bugs. Firebase Crashlytics is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
2.4 Network Requests
Amal makes limited network requests for the following optional features:
- Quran audio recitations — streamed from Quran.com API
- Quran translations — fetched from Quran.com API and cached locally
These requests do not include any personal or identifying information. Only the surah/ayah numbers are sent to retrieve content.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
For absolute clarity, Amal does NOT collect, store, or process:
- ❌ Names, emails, phone numbers, or any personal identifiers
- ❌ User accounts or passwords (no registration required)
- ❌ Contacts, call logs, SMS, or photos
- ❌ Browsing history or app usage tracking
- ❌ Advertising identifiers (we do not use Google Advertising ID)
- ❌ Financial or payment information
- ❌ Biometric data

5. Third-Party Services
Amal integrates the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy governing data handling:

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics tracking SDKs, or social media SDKs.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
6.1 Local Data
All locally stored data (prayer history, tasbih sessions, settings, bookmarks) remains on your device for as long as you use the app. You can delete this data at any time by:
- Clearing app data — Go to Android Settings → Apps → Amal → Storage → Clear Data
- Uninstalling the app — All local data is permanently deleted when you uninstall Amal
6.2 Crash Data
Crash reports sent to Firebase Crashlytics are retained according to Google Firebase's data retention policies (typically 90 days). We do not have the ability to associate crash reports with individual users.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- Local storage: All personal data is stored in the app's private storage area on your device, inaccessible to other apps
- Network encryption: All network communications (Quran API, Firebase) use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- No server-side storage: We do not operate any servers that store user data
- Minimal data collection: We follow the principle of data minimization — we only process what is strictly necessary
8. Children's Privacy
Amal is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since our app does not require registration and does not collect personal data, children can safely use the app's features (prayer times, Quran reading, etc.) without privacy concerns.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at komilvazebo@gmail.com.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right to Access — You can view all your data directly within the app (prayer history, tasbih history, settings)
- Right to Deletion — You can delete all your data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
- Right to Opt-Out — You can deny location permission and manually enter your coordinates instead
- Right to Information — This privacy policy provides full transparency about our data practices
Since we do not collect personal data on servers, there is no user account to delete. All data is under your direct control on your device.
